A brave bird managed to miraculously flee when a predatory leopard leaped into the air to grab it. Amazing video shows the sneaky leopard hiding in the field before leaping into the air and trying to snag an unwary stork from the sky.
The bird escaped from the cat’s grasp just millimeters before flying away and leaving the leopard with its tail between its legs. sʜᴏᴄᴋed safari visitors Paul Rifkin, 60, who snapped the photos, and Lauren O’Dea, 32, who filmed the footage, caught the momentous moment while on a trip to Tᴀɴᴢᴀɴɪᴀ.
They said that on their last day in the Serengeti as they were slowly making their way out there was not a lot of action. Then by chance, they managed to see a leopard in the ɢʀᴀss while a stork was quietly minding its own business a little distance away.
Because they didn’t know how long the leopard would take to pounce, they ʟᴏsᴛ track of her as she began to travel across the ɢʀᴀss. They hurriedly turned on the camera and began recording the stork, then everything happened.
The stork was flapping its wings desperately for its life when the leopard flew out of the ɢʀᴀss and stretched out for it. The leopard missed his target by mere millimeters, landed in the ɢʀᴀss, and then, defeated, made his way back to a tree. They said that they had the good fortune to witness such an incredible occasion and to record it.
